In2004,footballcoachBillCourtneytookonthedauntingjobofcoachingatManassasHighSchoolininner-cityMemphis,whereplayersaremorelikelytowindupinjailthanincollege.TheManassasTigerswereperennialwhippingboysoftheleague,bereftofvictories,funds,andmorale.Courtneyrecruitedagroupoffreshmentoturnthingsaround,andintheirfirstseasontheygotcreamed.Butwitheachpassingyeartheywonmoregamesandmorerespect.Atthestartoftheseasonin2009,Courtneysetagoal:towinthefirstplay-offgameintheschool’s110-yearhistory.
